NearSale Privacy Policy
NearSale is a local marketplace service operated by Roven LLC (“NearSale,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the NearSale mobile application, website, and related services.
1. Information We Collect
When you use NearSale, we may collect information you provide directly, including your email address, display name, profile information, city, state, ZIP code, listings, listing photographs, messages, offers, ratings, reviews, reports, and other information you submit through the service.
We may also collect information necessary to operate NearSale, including authentication information, device and application information, push-notification tokens, and technical or security information.
2. Location Information
NearSale uses location information to help users discover relevant listings nearby. Depending on the features you use and permissions you grant, NearSale may receive device-derived location information or location information that you provide manually.
You can control device location permissions through your device settings.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to operate and maintain NearSale; create and manage accounts; display marketplace listings; provide location-based marketplace features; enable messages and offers between buyers and sellers; send service and push notifications; investigate reports; prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and prohibited activity; enforce our policies; improve NearSale; protect our users and services; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Information Visible to Other Users
NearSale is a marketplace. Information you intentionally make public, including your display name, certain profile information, listings, listing photographs, ratings, and reviews, may be visible to other users.
Private communications such as messages and offers are intended to be visible only to the users participating in those interactions. Reports submitted through NearSale are not publicly displayed.
5. Service Providers
We may use third-party service providers to operate and support NearSale. These providers may process information on our behalf for services such as cloud infrastructure, databases, authentication, file storage, notifications, security, and other technical functionality.
NearSale currently uses technologies and services provided by Supabase and Expo as part of its application infrastructure. We may use additional service providers as NearSale develops.
6. Advertising
NearSale may offer advertising in the future. If advertising or advertising-related technologies collect or use personal information, we will provide applicable disclosures and request permissions when required. We may update this Privacy Policy as our advertising practices develop.
7. Safety, Fraud Prevention, and Legal Compliance
We may use, preserve, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, scams, prohibited listings, harassment, abuse, or security incidents; enforce NearSale's Terms and policies; comply with applicable law or legal process; protect NearSale or its users; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide NearSale, maintain the security and integrity of the service, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, and satisfy applicable legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is processed.
9. Account and Data Deletion
Users can initiate deletion of their NearSale account from within the NearSale application.
When an account is deleted, NearSale is designed to delete the account and associated user data and user-generated content, including applicable profile information, listings, listing photographs, conversations, messages, offers, ratings, and related account records.
Certain information may be retained when reasonably necessary or permitted by law for purposes such as legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or enforcement of NearSale's agreements and policies.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information processed through NearSale. However, no electronic system, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on the NearSale features you use and applicable law, you may be able to update your profile information, manage device permissions, control notification permissions, report users or content, block users, and delete your account.
You may also have additional privacy rights depending on where you live.
12. Children's Privacy
NearSale is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as NearSale develops or our practices change. When we make changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
